I first seen and heard of Miguel when he Hulk Hogan’ed that person at the award show, and I last seen and heard of Miguel when he won the championship after defeating that person with the infamous leg drop. 😅 His music isn’t really my cup of tea to be fair so I had no reason to follow.

Maaaan about 10 summers ago..droog drops that classic cut 12 pennies and had hip-hop going crazy..no lie the album was a classic(especially for that summer)..but the way he fed into the Nas mystique, only to come on stage with the bs saying "aww im from BK this is just how I talk"..it never sat well with me. It came off as too gimmicky. Very good artist, but he should've stayed true fron the jump and dispelled all the rumors in the beginning.

I think he had a problem many eclectic artists have, divided audiences, the R&B audience that likes joints like "Adorn" dont like his rock and pop material....and the hip hop audience that like "Skywalker" dont like his adorn era or his pop rock stuff.

I don't think it was the leg drop (there have been way worse incidents in music), I don't think it's Miguel at all. It's R&B in general; People just don't seem to really care about it anymore.
